Who We Are

Tibet Climate Crisis is coordinated by International Tibet Network with partner organisations, Free Tibet, Students for a Free Tibet, Australia Tibet Council, Swedish Tibet Committee, Danish Tibet Committee, Tibet Initiative Deutschland, Tibetan Women’s Association.

Together we advocate for action to alleviate the global climate crisis with particular concentration on the protection of the Tibetan Plateau, a uniquely important and globally significant ecosystem. We call for the Tibetan people to be enabled to be full participants finding solutions to the climate crisis in Tibet and to be part of decisions over the development of the plateau. We also call for the Tibetan people to have their fundamental rights to uphold, and the preservation of cultural, social, and economic lifeways inherently linked to Tibet’s high-altitude grasslands. We campaign for their right to determine their own fate and future as they adapt to climate change.

Tibetans and their supporters stand in solidarity with people around the world affected by the climate crisis, and call for ambitious, binding government agreements that uphold human rights, and will enable Tibetans to be part of the solution.
